Who we are

Outstation is a travel planning service operated by Vyan Labs. For privacy questions or requests, email support@outstation.tech.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we receive your name, email address, profile photo if available, and an authentication identifier. We store the trips, itineraries, saved places, messages, shared links, and traveler preferences you choose to provide. Those preferences may include dietary or accessibility needs. We also receive basic technical and usage information, such as device and browser details and interactions with the service.

Purchases are handled by our payment provider, Dodo Payments. We receive purchase and subscription records needed to provide paid features; payment details are entered with the provider rather than into Outstation.

How we use information

We use this information to authenticate you, build and save travel plans, personalize recommendations, show maps and places, support sharing features, process billing, maintain security, respond to support requests, and understand how the service is used. Trip prompts and related details may be sent to AI and travel data providers to generate an itinerary. Please avoid putting sensitive information in a trip prompt unless it is needed for your plan.

Service providers and public sharing

We use service providers for authentication, hosting, analytics, maps, travel research, AI generation, payment processing, and email delivery. These include Google services, Firebase, Dodo Payments, and the travel and AI providers used to create itineraries. If you create a public trip link, anyone with that link may view the trip details shown on the shared page. You can revoke a public share from the trip controls.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We use local storage and similar technologies for sign-in, preferences, and site operation. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technology to measure site traffic. On public travel discovery pages, we may show ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on visits to this site or other sites. Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on those visits. Other ad vendors may also use cookies if enabled in our AdSense settings.

You can manage personalized Google ads in Google Ads Settings. You can also learn about opt-outs offered by participating ad vendors at AboutAds. Where required, we present a consent choice before using advertising cookies. You can revisit that choice through the privacy message shown on the site when available in your region.

Advertising providers may collect or access cookies, device identifiers, IP address, approximate location, browser information, and ad interaction data to deliver and measure ads. You can also control cookies in your browser settings.

Your choices and retention

You can edit your traveler profile and manage public trip sharing in the app. To request access, correction, or deletion of your information, contact support@outstation.tech. We retain information while needed to operate the service and meet applicable billing, security, and legal obligations. Retention periods depend on the type of information and those obligations.
